Lab Profile

B-Cell Immunology

The overall goal of our research is to establish how antigen receptor repertoire diversity is shaped by antigen-driven selection in health and disease and to determine the molecular and functional characteristics of adaptive immune responses. We have developed strategies for the high-throughput analysis of B cell and T cell antigen receptor repertoires at single-cell level to gain insights in the development as well as the molecular and functional features of adaptive immune responses. Obtaining a better understanding of the diversity and selection of the antigen receptor repertoire in health and disease will help developing strategies that allow the targeted manipulation of the immune system, e.g. in cancer, infectious and immune mediated diseases, or autoimmunity.
